Personal security on the web is extremely important.
When students are on the web, make sure they do not give their last name or any personal information(i.e.. address or phone number)
When you are using the Internet, make sure that all sites you enter are secured and if they are not do not give any information such as credit card numbers, address, or phone number.
To ensure that you are aware of unsecured sites follow these procedures:
From the menu bar in Explorer, open up your Preferences and select Security. There should be a box you click so that when a page that is not secure opens up, you will receive a notification through a pop-up window.
Remember, nothing is completely secure on the WWW. It's just that some sites are less vulnerable than others because of encryption.
