What is the IMC?
The Instructional Materials Center (IMC) has two major functions:
- The IMC is a resource center
- The IMC provides audiovisual and printing services.
The IMC as a Resource Center
The idea behind the IMC Media Library is simple. We house materials and make them available to every school, thus eliminating the need to have a copy of a particular title at each school. The media library houses approximately 1270 films, 990 vide tapes, 1,440 filmstrips, 400 records, 450 study kids, 25 maps and models, 270 transparencies, 250 study prints, 20 models, 80 art objects and prints, and 25 laserdiscs.
The ASSET Program's mission is to strengthen the learning process in the classroom through the utilization of technology by adding over 20 new videos per month. Teachers have access to the latest curriculum materials in all subject areas. The programs are licensed and copied by the ASSET coordinator.
New ASSET videos as well as the new IMC materials, such as science and math kits, are listed in the monthly ASSET Newsletter.
Teachers and staff are always welcome to the IMC and browse through our collection. Some items are better appreciated in person!
Order for audiovisual materials may be placed:
- by dropping a slip in the outgoing library materials basket
- through interoffice mail
- in person
- on the telephone
- via E-Mail
Delivery requires up to two days via the district courier. Items will be placed in your school's library basket. You may use the IMC catalogs to select the appropriate materials. If you need a catalog, please let us know.
The IMC as a service center
