Mike Madison oversees the daily school operations including student curriculum, test score results, academic proficiency, and teacher performance.
Angela Groves is our assistant principal. Her primary duty is to assure that each child at Monte Vista is provided a safe and orderly environment for learning. She employs a consistent open door policy whereby she is available for students and parents alike.
Bea Amari is Monte Vista's Fiscal Office Manager. As Office Manager, Ms. Amari plans, develops, and supervises our office staff. She also administers site payroll/employment processing. Ms. Amari participates in monthly consultation meetings with the district's business manager. Her major responsibilities include maintaining the budget of site accounts, review of fiscal reports and budget amendments with our principal, and processing requisitions for purchase orders. Ms. Amari maintains Student Activity Records, is responsible for reports, revolving funds, scheduling and supervising Instructional Aides, ordering student materials, textbooks, general classroom supplies, attends PMT meetings and takes minutes. She is also responsible for the publication of the Bulletin (student/parent newsletter) and Tidbits (teachers).
Joy Crull is Monte Vista's Educational Secretary. As Monte Vista's Educational Secretary, Ms. Crull ensures that all student records are in order and assists with student registration, placement, and withdrawals. Ms. Crull assists in keying daily attendance when necessary and is responsible for running student data, reports, attendance reports, and assists at the front desk answering telephones whenever necessary. She is also responsible for the acquisition and assignment of substitutes for certified teaching staff.
Ilsy Madrid is the first person you will see when you come in to our office. As our primary receptionist, Ms. Madrid provides an immediate source to guide you to your appropriate contact. She is also responsible for keying in daily student attendance and making contact with parents regarding excessive student absences and tardies. In addition, Ms. Madrid provides English-to-Spanish translation.
Our school nurse has many responsibilities include maintaining and overseeing a healthy school population. This entails dealing with medical emergencies, patching up a variety of scrapes and bruises, comforting children with a multitude of ailments, dispensing medications, vision and hearing evaluations, immunizations and updates. Our nurse is always there for the children as well as a great resource for parents!
Pearl Vasquez is our Parent/Community Liaison. She serves as a liaison between school, parents, community and the District Community Education office. Ms. Vasquez has a working knowledge of services provided by state, city, county and local service agencies and directs families to community services and said social service agencies. She also maintains direct contact and close working relationships with other parent community liaisons to ensure communication, services and opportunities for the school, sites and district. In addition, she facilitates volunteer programs and provides services needed to the homeless school population. She hosts bi-monthly “Cafecito” (coffee talks) for parents and community members, which include guest speakers.
