Tree Grant Across the District
This year the district received the equivalent of $250,000 in trees, sustainable irrigation and installation across seven of our schools. Through the help of the City of Phoenix, AZSA, Tree Land Nurseries and other sponsors like APS, SRP, Phoenix Rising, SUNDT, Henderson Engineers, Raza Development Fund, Arizona Conservation Corps, and V&P Nurseries we were able to plant 248 drought tolerant indigenous trees on our campuses.
Student and staff assisted in the planting and were able to name the trees. At Larry C. Kennedy School the students named two of the trees Sigma and Catnip. Check out the recap video below!
