Nondiscrimination Equal Opportunity

In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Creighton Elementary School District shall not discriminate against qualified individuals with disabilities on the basis of disability in its services, programs, or activities.


The District is required to appoint an official Compliance Officer responsible to coordinate· compliance with and investigate any· complaints under the laws specified. The District appoints the Special Education Director as the compliance officer; contact information is as follows:

Title IX Forms for Districts

Nondiscrimination Policy and Notice of Nondiscrimination

The U.S. Department of Education’s (DOE) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) has provided guidance to District to comply with the 2024 amendments to Title IX regulations.  The policies and language cited below are consistent with the language that Districts likely already adopted prior to the 2024 amendments.

 

1.  §§ 106.8(b) and (c) require Districts to adopt, publish and implement a nondiscrimination policy.  The language below is approved by DOE. 

Nondiscrimination Policy

Creighton District does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any education program or activity that it operates, as required by Title IX, including employment.

 

2.  § 106.8(c) requires Districts to post a notice of nondiscrimination in these locations:

1.     District website

2.     Each handbook, catalog, announcement, bulletin, and application form made available to

a.     Students

b.    Parents, guardians or other authorized legal representatives of students

c.     Employees

d.    Applicants for admission or employment

e.     Unions/professional associations holding collective bargaining or professional agreements with the District

The language below is approved by DOE.

 

Notice of Nondiscrimination

Creighton District does not discriminate on the basis of sex and prohibits sex discrimination in any education program or activity that it operates, as required by Title IX and its regulations, including in employment.
